2021 Annual Report
During the 2021 calendar year, King George Sheriff’s Office like everyone else was affected by the pandemic. However, we were still able to participate in a limited number of worthwhile events, with the necessary precautions in place such as: The Special Olympics Polar Plunge, VA Special Olympics Torch Run, Bright Beginnings Back to School Program, Impactful Beginnings Event, Fall Festival and Shop with a Sheriff during the Christmas Holiday.
King George Animal Control had to cancel their Spring and Fall Rabies Clinic. Their Co-op Program through King George High School was postponed until August of 2021 when they were able to safely resume activities with the students.
The King George Sheriff’s Office also hosted two summer interns, Kenny Frank and Shane Hagewood. Both successfully completed a minimum of 120 hours of internship. Deputy B. Marini took the reins from Lt. Richards and continues to host the TRIAD program for seniors on the second Tuesday of the month on topics such as: various scams, AARP Smart Driver courses and Refuse to be a Victim.
The empowerHOUSE organization supporting survivors of domestic violence continues to be a vital asset to the Sheriff’s Office and the citizens of King George County. The Sheriff’s Office supported their 30th Annual Domestic Violence Candlelight Vigil held at the KG Citizen’s Center.

The King George Sheriff’s Office also celebrated in the retirement of Lieutenant Karen Richards with 31 years of service, Animal Control Supervisor Kevin Eller with 28 years of service and Deputy Sheriff Curtis Parker with 19 years of service.
